A) Rural Mason Training under PMAY-G
Government of Odisha aims to provide a pucca house with basic amenities to all houseless and households living in kutcha and dilapidated house by 2022. The immediate objective is to cover households living in kutcha house/dilapidated houses and ensure construction of quality houses. One of the key factors for success of Rural Housing Scheme is availability of skilled manpower particularly of Masons. In many Districts there is acute shortage of mason and in districts having good number of masons, it is found that they lack the knowhow of required design and appropriate use of building materials which increase unit cost and delay completion. In order to address the above shortcomings, training of existing masons and creation of further pool of masons by imparting training to the interested youth are imperative. Though mason training is going on in several districts, in the absence of standardized module, it is not uniform across the state. In order to bring uniformity, it is decided to conduct structured training program accordingly to the PMAY-G guideline. This project is monitored by Odisha Rural Development and Marketing Society. We got a work order of approx 1000 beneficiaries under Recognition Of Prior Learning (RPL) and Short Term Training (STT) Mode. Till date we have trained more than 500 students.
